Recently Mike, his 150-pound German shepherd, Sam, and I toured the area’s Victorian homes and received a unique history lesson. Each home has a story, and Mike goes beyond aesthetics when describing each project. I got the feeling that Mike had a personal relationship with the spirit of each structure. All I kept saying was, “Wow, I didn’t know that.” “I love to bring old homes back to life,” said Gibson. “They have so much character, and I am fascinated by the history of each house.” Born and raised in Napa, the Justin-Siena graduate went on to study to become an automotive technician, but while he was waiting to get a position in that field, a cousin hired him to help out in his painting business. His parents were into real estate projects at the time, and they too kept him busy with repairs and painting. Four years later he abandoned the idea of the automotive field, got his business license and started Partners in Painting. That was thirty years ago.
