Call Kari Ruel at 738-9698 ...as we know it Yountville, the “Culinary Capital of the Napa Valley,” will host the 20th Annual Taste of Yountville celebration March 15-16, to showcase the town’s finest food, wine and arts. Taste of Yountville will culminate in a town-wide block party on Saturday, March 16 in which food and wine lovers can experience the best of local favorites while strolling along Washington Street. In addition to the Taste of Yountville block party, the town will host several special events throughout the celebration, including local fine arts events hosted by the Yountville Arts Committee, special cooking demonstrations and guided tours of the French Laundry garden. Friday , March 15 The Yountville Arts Committee will present the popular Taste of Yountville Show & Sale Artist Reception hosted by Napa Valley Open Studio Artists from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The artist reception will be a one-of-a-kind opportunity to meet as many as 45 of Napa Valley’s most prestigious local artists, and view their work on display, including fine art, ceramics, glass, jewelry and mixed media, at the Yountville Community Center. Admission is $10 and all works will be available for purchase during the two-day sale through Saturday, March 16, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Yountville Arts Committee. Sat urday , March 16 The celebration will culminate with the feature event, the 20th Annual Taste of Yountville block party, where the town’s acclaimed restaurants and wineries will offer savory bites, microbrews and Yountville’s finest wine along pedestrian-friendly Washington Street. The event will take place from noon to 5 p.m., and admission is free. Tasting tickets to experience many of Yountville’s restaurants and dozens of Napa Valley wineries are only $1 each. A special garden tour of The French Laundry’s two-acre culinary masterpiece by culinary gardener Aaron Keefer is also available (weather permitting, check website for details). In addition, a one-day Passport will be available to visitors to get stamped along the event route during Taste of Yountville for a chance to win special prizes at day’s end.
