If you were there, you’ll remember it forever. In 2012, a special moment in time, that thankfully was captured on film. The last concert of the last tour of an American icon: the Rhinestone Cowboy, Glen Campbell. And it happened right here in Napa, at the appropriately iconic Uptown Theatre. Those in attendance will surely remember how Campbell went from completely lucid moments of brilliance to bouts of anger or confusion as an obvious result of his Alzheimer’s disease. His children, who were part of the band, quickly jumped in and gently guided him back to where he needed to be. The Napa Valley Film Festival is honored to be showing this film at the Uptown Theatre on Sunday, November 16 at 5:30 p.m., closing night of the NVFF. Director James Keach will be in attendance, as well as Campbell’s children. We suspect there will not be a dry eye in the house. Director James Keach’s new film, Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me, is an intimate and devastating look at the entire final tour of musical legend as he faces the end of his career due to Alzheimer’s disease. Campbell, one of the top musical acts of his era, was a gifted session player with the legendary “Wrecking Crew,” in addition to being a country music staple.
