Baines asserted. “Being able to make sure everyone has this
opportunity, when public speaking training is so expensive,
is really important to me.” What else is important, is

“El Cerrito is where I learned how to speak!” she
exclaimed. “When it came to speaking, I would freeze. If it
wasn’t for joining the El Cerrito High School speech and
debate team there’s just so many opportunities I wouldn’t
have taken on, so it really made sense to come back here.
This feels like home; we couldn’t be anywhere else.”
