Legendary singer-songwriter Joan
Baez has extended her “Fare Thee
Well” tour, much to the delight of
her many generations of Bay Area
fans. The guitar-strumming activist’s
repertoire often includes the folk songs
of protest or social justice for which she
is famous, but her induction to the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame last year is a testament
to the variety of genres she records and performs—
rock, pop, gospel and country—to much acclaim. Catch
Baez’s revolutionary renditions of pivotal hits like “Diamonds and
Rust” and “A Satisfied Mind” in the heart of San Francisco. Nov.
15, 8 p.m. Tickets $59.50–$89.50. The Masonic, 1111 California
St., San Francisco. 415/776-7457.
