Now is the perfect time to start thinking about an interior refresh,
Whether that's just a spruce up here and there or overhauling every
room, it can make all the difference. If you'd like a change but
don't quite know where to begin, here are some of the top home
design tips for the coming months.
1) Eco-conscious
One of the biggest interior tips is to go green. Re-use, recycle...
whatever you do to your home, do it sustainably.
The drive for a greener lifestyle is everywhere right now - we need
to make a positive impact, and there are loads of ways this can be
achieved through both lifestyle choices and what we do in the
home. Try your hand at upcycling to give things another lease of
life, and make more sustainable choices with interiors by purchasing
for longevity, as well as fewer but higher quality pieces.
2) Money, money, money
We're all feeling the pinch right now, so with the cost of living
crisis, it only seems fitting to focus on how we can be as thrifty as
possible when it comes to interior design.
Shop second-hand. Not only does this play into sustainability,

but it also saves a lot of money, especially on those higher-end
pieces. When painting, don't spend money on overly expensive
designer paint. Instead, take the colour for a colour match at a
more reasonably-priced shop. Upcycling also comes into this.
Instead of throwing away and buying new, what can you transform
into a new piece with a little DIY? Much more cost-effective and
personal.
3) Colour experimentation
Neutrals have long been the choice of stylish homeowners, but
with the turn of a new year comes the chance to branch out.
Opt for exciting shades of pink and red or deep tropical greens
and enchanting blues. Bright and colourful interiors have gained
popularity in recent years, but if you don't dare go too bold, try
different wallpaper, cushions, throws anything at all.
4) It's vintage
Staying with the eco-friendly trend, vintage décor has started to
creep back into Instagram feeds everywhere.
Avoid going over the top and keep it subtle by adding traditional
touches, such as doorknobs, coving, and statement furniture pieces
which add just the right amount of vintage. Plus, shop wisely by
opting for second-hand alternatives over brand-new items designed
to look 'vintage'.
5) Prints to please
From animal prints to florals, expect to be seeing more and more
prints as we head into 2023.
Much like experimenting with colour, prints can be mixed and
matched to achieve that perfect finish; incorporating them in an
interesting way. Before you go too heavy on the prints, try and
introduce some into the mix alongside bold colours and neutral
shades to test the final look.
So, there you have it! Start planning now to get ahead for 2023,
and before you know it you'll be standing back and admiring your
handiwork.
