Tawnya Kuzia sets the stage for young

TAWNYA KUZIA remembers the day she got the call. It was 2016, about a month after the
choreographer’s junior dance team, The Posse, had won a national competition in Los Angeles.
The event had been attended by Emmy Award-winning choreographers Napoleon and Tabitha
D’umo, known together as Nappytabs, who were the producers of NBC’s new dance show,
“World of Dance.” Kuzia believes they saw what her dancers could do, and that’s why they called.
