GLASS AND SASS
 • The artist homeowner wanted
 an ultra-contemporary look, so
 bold color and modish materials
 took precedence. The result:
 high-gloss Poggenpohl cabinets
 with “floating” glass drawer
 boxes; a Teppanyaki grill at
 the cantilevered island’s seating
area; and a vivid shining red
 glass backsplash to inspire daring
 culinary adventures. Harrell

 ZEN PARADISE
 •
With a nod to Japanese and Mid-
 Century styling, the kitchen’s design
 features flat panel bamboo
 cabinets above white lacquered
 drawers. Four dropped pendants
and a large sloping roof window
 provide task light, amplified by
 the Artimede chandelier over the
 dining table. Unseen, on back
wall, is an antique Tansu from the
 owner’s extensive collection. RKI
