acclaimed expressionist, Deane seeks to evoke powerful feelings
in the viewers of his exuberant abstract paintings.
Deane was born in Oregon and moved to California as a teenager.
As a child, he was fascinated with color arrangements and
textures and excelled at art from an early age. “I cannot remember
a time in my life when I haven’t been drawing, painting or

creating,” Deane says. In his artwork, he applies paint generously,
uses color vividly, and his lines give a sense of movement
that overflows with poetic emotion.
Deane’s work has always been passionate. He specializes in
abstract and non-objective painting, where a brushstroke here
or dabbed paint-streak there might suggest different things to
different viewers. His art at its best, he says, is “a continuous
process of self-discovery… sometimes headlong, sometimes
